Indoor swimming pools

Indoor swimming pools

The ultimate house extension or detached leisure building – a place with everything you need to entertain, exercise, play, or just relax – whatever the weather.

Whether you want a new indoor swimming pool or a new building over your existing garden pool, we design and build beautiful swimming pool buildings, from energy efficient timber pool houses to traditional masonry architecture.

At Buckland we have three key skills; building the swimming pool, constructing the building, and installing the complete services package including pool water heating and building air treatment. We’ll talk you through every step of choosing the right size and specification for your budget, and ensure that all the elements work together in the most efficient way.

We start by helping you decide the pool length, width and depth, and then the building dimensions to accommodate your gym equipment, social areas, changing rooms, showers and wc etc. We can guide you as you specify pool tiles or liner, underwater lights, counter current exercise swim jets, and automatic cover.

And then we advise on your choices for the architecture of the building, whether it is traditional brick or timber building. We are the appointed distributor of Pinelog timber buildings for the South East of England; each bespoke high-quality redwood building is factory built in the UK and pre-treated before being packed and delivered to us to re-assemble on your site.

For many projects we also undertake full design and installation responsibility for changing rooms, showers, wc, saunas and hot tubs. And then come the pool and building services from swimming pool water circulation and heating to air conditioning. We are experienced in specifying and installing the complete package of air-source heat pumps, heat exchangers, air dehumidification units and heat-recovery ventilation systems – if it all sounds a little technical don’t worry; it’s our job to make it simple for you.

After a site survey we’ll prepare a quotation and CAD drawings with 3D animations so you can see exactly what your finished pool building will look like. Generally our detached pool building designs are classed as permitted development and do not need planning permission, but please let us check with your local authority for you. Even if we do need to apply for planning permission it is all part of our comprehensive service. A typical project takes us 3 – 4 months from start to commissioning; you simply step in and swim!
